Data Manager (Pioneers Media)

The Data Manager provides leadership and coordination for how Pioneers Media manages, secures, and uses its data. This role is a key part of the Pioneers Media Support Team, serving ministry teams by ensuring that data supports effective operations, reporting, and future growth.

Working closely with the Innovation & Technology Team, Enterprise Management Systems Lead, and ministry leaders, the Data Manager helps define data strategy, improve data quality, and ensure compliance with relevant regulations, including GDPR. This role plays a vital part in enabling informed decision-making and safeguarding organisational information.

Key responsibilities include:

• Developing and implementing Pioneers Media’s data strategy

• Liaising with systems leads and the Pioneers International technology team on database design and systems architecture

• Maintaining oversight of key reporting and delivery timelines (e.g. annual returns, Board reporting, donor reports)

• Implementing and enforcing robust data management, security, and audit practices

• Managing subject access requests and communication with the Information Commissioner’s Office

• Contributing to disaster recovery and business continuity planning

• Working with ministry teams to identify data needs and improve data use

• Supporting data visualisation to communicate outcomes, trends, and gaps

We are looking for someone who brings:

• Proven experience in project and operational management

• Strong understanding of data management and information security principles

• Knowledge of data protection regulations, including GDPR

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, suited to a multi-cultural organisation
