The Data Manager provides leadership and coordination for how Pioneers Media manages, secures, and uses its data. This role is a key part of the Pioneers Media Support Team, serving ministry teams by ensuring that data supports effective operations, reporting, and future growth.

Working closely with the Innovation & Technology Team, Enterprise Management Systems Lead, and ministry leaders, the Data Manager helps define data strategy, improve data quality, and ensure compliance with relevant regulations, including GDPR. This role plays a vital part in enabling informed decision-making and safeguarding organisational information.

Key responsibilities include:

Developing and implementing Pioneers Media’s data strategy
Liaising with systems leads and the Pioneers International technology team on database design and systems architecture
Maintaining oversight of key reporting and delivery timelines (e.g. annual returns, Board reporting, donor reports)
Implementing and enforcing robust data management, security, and audit practices
Managing subject access requests and communication with the Information Commissioner’s Office
Contributing to disaster recovery and business continuity planning
Working with ministry teams to identify data needs and improve data use
Supporting data visualisation to communicate outcomes, trends, and gaps

Proven experience in project and operational management
Strong understanding of data management and information security principles
Knowledge of data protection regulations, including GDPR
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, suited to a multi-cultural organisation
