Do you love tech with a purpose? Can you juggle solar panels, spreadsheets, HF radios, and the occasional surprise visitor with equal skill and a smile? We’re looking for someone with a heart for service and a knack for getting things done to help bring light, connection, and transformation to some of the most remote corners of Bougainville. 

We are MAF—a Christian organisation using aviation and technology to bring help, hope, and healing to some of the world’s most isolated communities. Since 1945, MAF has been flying to the ends of the earth, and today we serve in 31 countries with a fleet of 116 aircraft. But our work goes far beyond aviation—we deliver medical personnel, development workers, Bibles, church materials, and other essential resources to communities with limited access to healthcare, education, and the Gospel.

And now, MAF is returning to Bougainville! 

Our mission? To support churches, government, and development partners by restoring access to critical services—like aviation, solar power, and high-frequency radios—for clinics and communities in hard-to-reach areas. As we rebuild infrastructure, secure permissions, and lay a strong foundation, we’re inviting passionate, purpose-driven individual to join the journey as our MAF Technologies Manager - AROB.

Responsibilities

 What You’ll Be Doing:

• Leading the implementation of solar power, communications systems, and Bible/audio Bible distribution projects.
• Supporting and training local communities, pastors, and government workers in the use of tech and tools.
• Overseeing customer service and product sales—because even mission tech needs great marketing!
• Managing logistics, scheduling, and reporting in coordination with our Goroka-based team.
• Contributing to the spiritual life of MAF and encouraging others in faith.

We are looking for a mature, even-tempered team member who can build and maintain strong relationships with both staff and clients. You’ll need to be organised and responsible, able to meet deadlines and work under pressure when required. You must also be physically fit and willing to travel to remote locations when needed.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

What We’re Looking For:

Essential:

• Expertise in solar, computer, communication tools essential
• Tertiary qualification in a relevant field
• Minimum 3 years of experience in Sales, Marketing, or Purchasing
• Computer literacy with experience in word processing and spreadsheets
• Practicing and committed Christian
• Organised and reliable, with good relationship-building skills
• Able to work in and contribute to a small, close-knit community

Desirable:

• Knowledge of bookkeeping or accounting software
