International Care Network (ICN) is a Christian charity walking alongside refugees, asylum seekers and vulnerable migrants as they rebuild their lives here in the UK. Every day, we see hope restored, confidence grow, and futures rebuilt — and you could be part of that story.
Every day, we walk alongside people who have been forced to leave their homes, rebuild their lives from scratch, and navigate enormous uncertainty. We provide practical support, friendship, opportunities and a welcoming community where people can begin to feel that they belong again.
We're looking for an exceptional Community Support Manager to lead and develop our Community Support Department and contribute as a member of ICN's Senior Leadership Team.
This is a role for someone who believes in the power of community and can provide both strategic leadership and practical support. Someone who can inspire staff and volunteers, build effective partnerships, develop services and create opportunities that help people move from surviving to thriving.
What you'll be doing
You'll lead a passionate team delivering a wide range of support and activities for asylum seekers and refugees, including:
• Community support and outreach services
• Wellbeing programmes
• Women, family and children's services
• Community activities and events
• Advice and integration services
• Volunteer engagement
• Partnerships with local organisations and services
You'll help ensure that ICN remains a place where people are welcomed, valued and supported to build positive futures. Working alongside the Director of Operations, you'll also help embed lived experience and co-production across the organisation, ensuring our services reflect the needs, aspirations and strengths of the communities we support.
Why this role matters
Many of the people who access our services have experienced loss, trauma, isolation and significant challenges.
Your role will help create spaces where friendships are formed, confidence grows, skills develop and people begin to feel at home in their communities.
You'll help ensure that a mother feels supported and less alone, that a young person has opportunities to learn and grow, and that individuals who have faced immense hardship find connection, hope and purpose.
This role is about much more than managing projects and programmes. It's about helping people rebuild their lives.
Who we’re looking for
You’ll thrive in this role if you:
• are an experienced and compassionate leader
• can inspire, support and develop staff and volunteers
• are passionate about inclusion, equity and community development
• can build strong partnerships and relationships
• are organised, proactive and solutions-focused
• share our commitment to supporting refugees, asylum seekers and vulnerable migrants
• has experience of leading teams and contributing to organisational strategy at a senior level
• are comfortable working within and being supportive of ICN’s Christian ethos
Why join ICN?
ICN is a friendly, ambitious and values-driven charity where relationships matter and everyone's contribution is valued.
You'll be joining a team that is passionate about making a difference and committed to creating communities where everyone can belong and flourish.
As we continue to grow and develop our services, you'll have the opportunity to shape new initiatives, influence our future direction and play a key role in helping us deliver lasting impact across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole and wider Dorset.
What we offer
• Salary: £38,295 per annum
• 25 days’ annual leave + 8 bank holidays
• Company pension scheme
• Mileage paid at 50p/mile for work related travel
• Staff wellbeing support, socials, and access to clinical supervision
• Flexibility within contracted hours
• Ongoing training and development
• A genuinely supportive and friendly team who care about each other
ICN is committed to being an inclusive and welcoming employer. As a Disability Confident employer, we encourage applications from people with disabilities and will make reasonable adjustments where needed. We value diversity and ensure all current and potential employees are given equal opportunities. No one will ever be disadvantaged or discriminated against because of gender, age, marital or civil partnership status, race, nationality or ethnic origin, disability, religion or belief, sexual orientation, gender reassignment, pregnancy or maternity, trade union membership or political beliefs. Only requirements that can be clearly justified are applied.
