
Key Responsibilities – reporting to the Head of Maths, your key responsibilities will include:
Teaching & Learning
• Plan and deliver engaging, well-structured Business Studies lessons in line with the school curriculum and relevant Cambridge programmes.
• Develop students’ understanding of key business concepts including enterprise, marketing, finance, operations, human resources and business strategy.
• Encourage students to apply business theory to real-world organisations, current issues and practical contexts.
• Use a range of teaching approaches to meet different learning needs and levels of ability.
• Promote critical thinking, problem-solving, communication and independent learning.
• Maintain high expectations for student participation, effort and achievement.Create a safe, inclusive, respectful learning environment that supports all learners
• Manage classroom behaviour effectively using school policies and restorative approaches
• Provide pastoral support to students and contribute to the school’s homeroom programme, if assigned
Professional Responsibilities
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, assessments, and student performance
• Communicate effectively with parents, colleagues, and school leadership
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and continuous improvement in teaching practices
• Participate in staff meetings, school events, and collaborative planning sessions
• Contribute to extracurricular activities such as clubs, competitions, service projects, or field trips
• Uphold the school’s mission, values, and safeguarding standards
Qualifications & Experience
Required
• Bachelor’s degree in business Studies / Economics, or a related field
• A teaching qualification / certification
• Experience teaching Business Studies in a school setting
• Strong English communication skills (spoken and written)
• Ability to work effectively with students from diverse cultural backgrounds
Preferred
• Familiarity with Cambridge International Curriculum
• Ability to integrate inquiry-based and project-based learning
• Experience with digital learning tools (e.g., Google Workspace, interactive platforms)
