We owned bed and breakfast accommodation on Holy Island pre-pandemic and have since moved to the neighbouring village of Lowick - historically a final staging-post for pilgrims visiting the island.
Our separate refurbished annex comprises a fully-equipped kitchen area, a dining and lounge space, separate double bedroom and a bathroom incorporating a bath and shower cubicle. A TV, DVD-player, smart speaker and WiFi are available and the cottage benefits from oil-fired central heating and hot water.
Outside there is a table and seating on a freshly-landscaped patio area directly adjacent to open fields with views across to the Kyloe Hills and the Cheviots.
When we decided to move on from Holy Island, we very much wished to stay in this wonderful part of the world and still have the opportunity through our cottage to share it with others - but let you organise your own breakfast!
We also have a large studio on site which used to be the village pottery. Last year we were busy with a complete renovation and expect it to be ready in early 2023 for crafting and creative sessions as an option for guests as well as members of the local community. The studio also has a kitchen area and is heated by a modern wood-burning stove for year-round use.
Guests are welcome to join us by arrangement for our daily office times of prayer and reflection. In addition, depending on when you stay with us, you might like to join us for one of our local history lectures (Kevin is Chair of the Lowick Heritage Group) or come along to one of the open mic musical evenings which we host.
Lowick has a church, two very good pubs serving food, a very handy village store and newsagent and a garage - all within a couple of minutes walk from the cottage. You are spoilt for choice for places to visit and we're very happy to offer our local knowledge. We are a 15-minute drive from the historic walled town of Berwick, a similar distance from Holy Island and about a 30-minute drive from Alnwick Castle and Gardens There is also a regular bus service to Berwick and south to neighbouring Wooler.
Visit our website for more details, a short video welcome and an availability and pricing calendar where you will see we have kept our prices very competitive this year. You can also email or call us to check availability.
We look forward to your staying with us.
