Guidance Counselor

As a Guidance Counselor at Bingham Academy, walk alongside students, helping them navigate challenges, discover their strengths, and prepare with purpose for the future God has planned for them.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Oversight of Academic Records
• Oversight of Student Academic Program
• Meet with High School students to discuss and establish a plan for future university/college applications and career options
• Maintain open communication with parents regarding help with navigating university application processes and university/college credit
• Work with PSSHE teachers to help plan sessions to enable students to investigate a variety of careers and make informed choices
• Speak at parent information meetings about preparing students for the future
• Have resources available to share with students and their parents regarding future careers, vocation or technical training, and military options
• University advisement
• Order and administer standardised testing
• Communicate important deadlines and test dates
• Work with colleagues to formulate aims, objectives and strategic plans, coherent and relevant to the needs of the students and the overall strategic plan of the school
• Promote teamwork
• Liaise with exams officer for the provision of arrangements for examinations
• Provide information, data and reports on the performance of the department to Leadership.
