Family & Young People’s Worker

(with opportunity for Primary School Chaplaincy)

All Saints’ Church, Brenchley, Kent

All Saints’ Church, Brenchley is seeking an enthusiastic and faith-filled person to join our ministry team as a Family and Young People’s Worker, with the opportunity to serve as Chaplain to our local Church of England primary school.

At the heart of this role is a shared desire to know Jesus more deeply, to help others encounter Him, and to see families nurtured and encouraged in their walk with Christ. We long to grow the Kingdom of God in our parish by investing in children, young people, and their families — at church, at school, and in everyday life.

About the Role

Working alongside the Vicar and PCC, you will help shape and develop a growing ministry that places families at the centre of church life. You will encourage children and young people to explore faith, support parents and carers as the primary nurturers of faith, and strengthen the long-standing partnership between All Saints’ and Brenchley & Matfield CofE Primary School.

The school chaplaincy element of the role includes leading collective worship, supporting the school’s Christian vision, and offering a pastoral presence within the school community.

Key Aspects of the Role

  • Leading and developing children’s, youth, and family ministry at All Saints’

  • Supporting families as they grow together in faith and discipleship

  • Helping children and young people encounter Jesus through worship, teaching, and pastoral care

  • Contributing to Sunday and mid-week activities, social events, and seasonal celebrations

  • Serving the local primary school through collective worship, clubs, and pastoral support

  • Building strong relationships with parents, carers, volunteers, and the wider community

Who We’re Looking For

You will be someone who:

  • Has a deep love for Jesus and a desire to share the Gospel.

  • Has a heart for children, young people, and families.

  • Is able to build warm, trusting relationships across church and school

  • Has experience (paid or voluntary) in children’s, youth, family, or school-based ministry

  • Values safeguarding and works well within a team

We welcome applicants who are communicant members of the Church of England or churches in fellowship with it.

Practical Details

  • Location: All Saints’ Church, Brenchley & Brenchley and Matfield CE Primary School

  • Hours: 3 days per week (22 hours) with flexibility and potential for future development

  • Salary: £22,500

  • Some evening and weekend work will be required

  • Enhanced DBS required
