Children and Families Leader (CFL)

We are seeking a gifted Christian CFL to shape and grow our ministry among children and families, developing discipleship, building volunteer teams, and extending our impact within the local community. We’re looking for a passionate, creative and faith filled Leader to help us nurture the discipleship of children and support families in our church and wider community. This is an exciting opportunity to develop and shape this important work as we grow as ‘family’.

About the Role

We believe children are a vital part of our church family, and we want to see them grow in confidence, faith and belonging. The CFL will shape and grow our Children and Families ministry, building on existing strengths and developing a vision for the future. The CFL will:

• Provide strategic leadership for children and families ministry, developing and implementing a vision that helps children and families grow as disciples of Jesus and become fully integrated into church life.

• Lead and oversee Sunday children’s ministry: planning engaging, age appropriate sessions that help children encounter Jesus.

• Build strong relationships with families: building strong relationships and equipping parents/carers in faith at home.

• Develop and expand midweek ministries and outreach opportunities, identifying new ways to engage children and families from within and outside the church.

• Recruit, lead and develop volunteers: helping build a confident, well supported team.

• Strengthening links with the community: including schools, local organisations and families not yet connected to church.

Hours and Salary

• Hours: Min. 20 hours per week with potential for full-time for the right candidate.

• Salary: £26k - £32k depending on experience (pro-rata for part-time based on 37.5 FTE)

• Start date: 1st January 2027 or as soon as possible

Station Hill Baptist Church is located close to the centre of Chippenham, an historic market town situated on the edge of the Cotswolds. We are just a few miles from J17 of the M4 and 2-minute walk from the GWR mainline station with fast train access to Bath (12 mins), Bristol (20 mins) and London Paddington (75 mins).
