"Numb - the edge of Feeling" - Book launch premiere Performance Coventry

Run by Phoenix Performing Arts Trust

Phoenix Performing Arts presents a powerful presentation of "Numb - the edge of Feeling" through live music, spoken word and mime/physical theatre on 9th July in Mosaic Church Coventry and a number of venues in the UK 2026-2027.

Danny Scott is an international performer and director whose specialism is Mime and Physical Theatre, now based in Coventry. He won a double scholarship to the London Mime Centre in 1982, toured and performed in many contexts before making his debut on the London West End with his own solo show “China Dolls” in 1990. Since then he has lived and worked in many countries, producing his own physical theatre pieces in the Edinburgh and Prague Fringe a number of times and has worked extensively in training, including being a guest teacher at RADA, Mountview and Goldsmiths amongst a number of others. In addition he has worked widely in corporate consultancy, prisons and youth detention centres and schools.

Danny’s story is a very powerful story of transformation of a life involved in crime, expelled and banned from school, heading for suicide, to a living faith in Christ. Danny obtained his BA and MA in his 40s and is now being nominated for a Doctorate in the Arts. He has penned his life in a book “Numb – The Edge of Feeling”– which has just been released and which he will be launching firstly in Coventry July 2026 and then all over the UK 2027.

“This is a very brave book… utterly compelling – heart-breaking yet profoundly uplifting” Adrian Snell

“An awe-inspiring story of courage and immense resilience” Martyn Joseph

“A legend – a remarkable guy and one of the most gifted people I know in his field…” Patrick Regan (OBE)
