The North Oxford Overseas Centre (NOOC) provides a home for overseas academic visitors to Oxford. It was founded in the 1970s and owns two large extended Victorian houses on the Banbury Road. The capacity is just over 100 and the Centre is always close to full. The residents are mainly doctoral or post-graduate researchers at Oxford University, coming from many countries and staying for periods which vary between a few weeks and two years. NOOC is a registered housing provider with charitable status, and is a Christian foundation.
