UK

The Lifespring Foundation (Africa) is a UK based Christian charity bringing opportunity, education, empowerment & hope to rural communities in Zambia.

We support empowerment workshops and a Home Based Care project for widows, orphans and vulnerable families in Ndola Zambia. This involves gathering together local volunteers from the church community in order to offer essential pastoral support, health care, distribute resources, organise feeding programmes and offer advice and counselling for those whose lives have been affected by poverty, HIV & Aids. Visiting the sick and dying in their own homes, offering a day centre for people "living positively".

LSFA also maintain a school for orphaned and vulnerable children in Kaloko, one of the poorest regions of Ndola, Zambia. Child sponsorship schemes enable LSFA to offer places to children aged 5 - 13years who would otherwise have no hope of an education.

LSFA have initiated a support group for children who are HIV+ offering regular playschemes, helping children understand their condition and how to manage it effectively whilst ensuring supplementary feeding programmes enable those on Anti-retroviral treatment programmes are supported effectively.

LSFA have set up a community Maize Mill to enable widows in one of the poorest compounds to have the ability to grind even a small amount of maize. LSFA actively encourages small business enterprises to be set up by those who take part in the empowerment programmes and facilitates individuals and co-operatives to develop the skills needed to become self-supporting.

Lifespring Farm, Ndola offers a haven for volunteers from overseas coming to take part in our projects. LSFA offers discounted rates for full board accommodation & is always open to welcome visitors to LSFA projects in Zambia.
