Treasurer Trustee

We’re looking for a financially experienced Christian to join the Board of Media Mission UK (part of 3xM International) as our volunteer Treasurer Trustee. The role is primarily one of financial oversight and governance—helping the Board with budgets, financial reporting, controls, compliance and responsible stewardship—rather than serving as the organisation’s day-to-day bookkeeper.

Media Mission UK helps support critical Christian media outreach and training across Africa and Asia, including work reaching into restricted-access countries where effective media can provide an important pathway for the Gospel. We’re looking for someone who would value using their professional financial skills to help strengthen and steward this growing mission. England or Wales preferred.

The Role

As Treasurer, you will maintain a strategic overview of our financial health, ensuring robust financial governance while aligning our resources with our faith-based mission.

• Key Responsibilities:
• Financial Oversight: Guide the Board on financial strategy, budgeting, and cash flow.
• Governance & Compliance: Ensure compliance with UK charity law, the Charity Commission, and Charity SORP.
• Board Reporting: Present clear quarterly financial updates to fellow trustees.
• Scrutiny & Risk: Oversee internal financial controls, risk management, and annual independent examinations.
• Faith Leadership: Actively participate in the spiritual governance of the charity alongside the board.

About You

You are a financially literate professional who wants to use your skills for Kingdom impact. You do not need to be a qualified accountant, though professional finance experience is highly valued.

Essential Requirements:

• Strong background in finance, bookkeeping, or business management.
• Ability to explain financial concepts clearly to non-financial trustees.
• Strategic thinking and sound independent judgment.
• An active, mature Christian faith aligned with our Statement of Faith. (There is an Occupational Requirement for the holder of this post to be a practicing Christian under the Equality Act 2010).

Desirable:

• Experience with Gift Aid claims and UK charity tax exemptions.
• Knowledge of cloud accounting platforms.
