Are you a committed Christian working as a senior leader in a school looking for a new role or first step into headship?

Are you able to lead confidently, communicate well, develop others and sustain a culture in which pupils, staff and families feel known, supported and encouraged?

The King’s School is an independent Christian school managed within the Oxfordshire Community Churches Trust, catering to children from Early Years to GCSEs. It opened in 1984 and since then has had a very successful track record in achieving high academic standards and in helping children develop in their understanding of God and their relationship with God.

The successful applicant will be joining a vibrant and welcoming school - an exciting place to work, with happy, friendly children from a culturally diverse range of backgrounds who are eager to learn; and well-motivated, compassionate staff who work hard to deliver a first-class education. The school is ably supported by dedicated Governors who are committed to bringing positivity and support as the school embarks on a new chapter on its journey.

The post is suitable for existing Heads, or those currently in senior leadership roles in schools who are looking for their first step into Headship – from a background in either the independent or state sectors.

If you believe you can offer the God-given leadership which inspires and motivates others towards excellence, then we would love to hear from you.

  • Closing date: 9am, Wednesday 14 October 2026
  • Interviews: week beginning Monday 2 November 2026

We warmly encourage you to visit TKS to see the children and staff at work. We are confident that you will sense the palpable warmth, welcome and friendliness of the whole school community, for it is this that makes The King’s School such an exciting place to lead.
