Mission Aviation Fellowship (MAF) has been bringing help, hope, and healing in the name of Jesus to over 30 developing countries for 75+ years. Flying into some of the world’s most remote places, we deliver patients, relief teams, Bibles, and essential supplies where roads don’t go — because in many communities, flying isn’t a luxury, it’s a lifeline.

Our vibrant programme in Papua New Guinea (PNG) is a hub of adventure and impact. With rugged terrain, remote villages, and only 18% of the population living in urban areas, MAF’s work is transforming lives, one flight at a time — from emergency medevacs to delivering food, vaccines, and hope.

We’re looking for a Facilities & Vehicles Manager to lead our ground operations in PNG. You’ll be the go-to person for everything on the ground, keeping MAF’s infrastructure, facilities, and fleet in top shape so our planes can keep flying.

Responsibilities

This role is perfect for someone mission-minded, people-focused, and practical — someone who thrives in organised chaos, loves a challenge, and wants their work to make a real impact.

What you’ll be doing:

• Leading the Facilities & Vehicles team to ensure all buildings and vehicles are safe, well-maintained, and mission-ready.
• Training, coaching, and guiding the maintenance crew to perform at their best.
• Overseeing all maintenance operations, stepping in to manage the team and projects, big or small.
• Planning and executing maintenance projects, from routine checks to major upgrades.
• Ensuring the vehicle fleet is dependable and road-ready at all times.
• Keeping budgets on track, tools organised, and safety top of mind for the team.
• Working closely with the broader MAF PNG team to support smooth operations on the ground.

• Know your way around building maintenance, workshops, and vehicle fleets.
• Enjoy working with people and coaching a team to success.
• Can solve problems on the fly, stay calm under pressure, and keep a sense of humour when challenges arise.
• Love helping others grow, particularly our awesome local staff.
• Can handle spreadsheets, schedules, and spanners with equal confidence.
• Are excited to serve in a role that supports God’s mission in remote PNG communities.
