  • Are you a committed Christian* who is passionate about the persecuted church and the mission of Open Doors?
  • Can you write and edit compelling, thoughtful, innovative copy?
  • Are you inspired to use your writing and editing talents to connect the persecuted church with Christians in the UK and Ireland?

Open Doors is a Christian charity that is looking to recruit active, practicing Christians to stand in the GAP (give, act, pray) on behalf of persecuted Christians worldwide. Every day, millions of Christians risk their lives to follow Jesus. In more than 70 countries, Open Doors supports them by supplying Bibles, providing emergency relief and helping persecuted believers stand strong for the long-term.

We’re looking for a Christian* copywriter to lead on and manage key content projects. You’ll write and coordinate creative, original and inspiring copy in order to grow awareness of Open Doors’ work and reach new audiences with the message of the persecuted church – as well as increasing existing supporter’ engagement and loyalty to persecuted Christians through Open Doors.

You will write for a wide range of print and digital communications, including magazine, prayer diary, other print resources, web, email and social media to help grow support for the persecuted church through prayer, advocacy and giving.

You will have the opportunity to use your God-given character and talents to contribute to the work of Open Doors and to work with integrity and with purpose. We offer a flexible role with a good work-life balance, huge job satisfaction and employee benefits. You will work with some inspirational people and there are plenty of opportunities to develop your career.

We welcome applications from candidates of different backgrounds. If you are a Christian* looking to make an impact and seeking a new challenge in 2026, here’s how to apply:

When submitting your application you will be asked to provide (in a single document) a sample of your writing for print and a sample of your writing for digital media. Each sample should be approximately 800-1000 words, and can be part of a longer piece. They can be on any topic, though it would be beneficial if the samples are intended to convey a story or message with a strong call-to-action.

Closing date: Sunday 8 November 2026

1st Interviews: Tuesday 17 November 2026 (Online via MS Teams)

2nd Interviews: Tuesday 24 November 2026 (In-person at our offices in Witney)

*There is an occupational requirement under Schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010 for this post to be held by an active, practising Christian who assents to our statement of faith.

Please mention OSCAR when responding to this opportunity.
