Run by Abernethy Outdoor Centre
This retreat is for those who long to breathe again the fresh air of grace. Perhaps you’re weary of carrying what was never meant to be borne. Together, we will explore the grace of God revealed in Jesus’ yoke: not as a burden to shoulder, but as an embrace that gathers you in and quietens the soul.
Through biblical reflection, conversation, story, and unhurried space, you are invited to lay down regrets and unrealistic expectations, rethink your calling and identity, and rediscover the joy of serving God – embracing once again God’s story for your life, shaped by grace, purpose and love.
The retreat will be led by Chic Lidstone, author of the book ‘Take My Yoke: an invitation into the embrace of grace’. Alongside morning and evening sessions with Chic, there will be abundant opportunities for personal reflection, prayer and rest in God’s beautiful creation.
Kilmalieu occupies a stunning position on the shore of Loch Linnhe. It is a renovated eighteenth-century hunting lodge with a mixture of comfortable single, twin and family bedrooms. Food is home-made and consistently praised for its quality. Guests have access to a library, art room, lounge, chapel and gym – and are free to explore the estate, with its glorious mix of mountains, coastline and ancient woodland.
At Abernethy, we believe that shared adventures in the outdoors create incomparable opportunities to transform lives. Abernethy Trust provides adventure residential experiences through outdoor adventure centres in wild locations across Scotland.
