BI
The King's School, Bujumbura, Burundi is an English speaking, Christian school; working as part of African Revivial Ministries (UK Reg Charity: 1037971)
The school was established in January 1998 principally to educate children from the CRIB (Children Rescued In Burundi) orphanages. In September 2001 the Secondary School opened with just 7 students and in September 2011 the Nursery School opened.
Now based on four sites, it is currently the only school in Burundi to offer an international standard of education up to the age of 18. Students from the school sit the UK GCSE and A-level exams.
Our Nursery, Infants, Junior and Secondary schools have 450 students from 18mths to 18 years. The fee paying student population enables the school to provide subsidised places to children from two local orphanages.
Mission Statement
To produce disciples of Jesus, who are equipped spiritually and academically to:
Serve God
Serve the nation
and Make disciples in Burundi and beyond.
The Future
We continually seek God's will for the school and hope to see how the school can develop what it already does , how its success can be replicated and explore opportunities for less academically gifted children.
Recruitment
In support of the school's missional objectives, its preference is to recruit either Burundian citizens or self-financing missionaries; however support options are sometimes available.
Opportunities
We regularly have vacancies for teaching staff at both the Primary and Secondary schools.
In addition there always opportunities for gap year students to join as classroom assistants.
