Seeking Medical Advice

This section introduces the various medical advice & treatment options.

NHS treatment

From April 2015, the UK government changed the regulations for NHS charging. Basically, free NHS treatment will only be provided to those who are 'ordinarily resident' in the UK. This will affect some long term mission workers who have, until now, been exempt from such charges. You should check to see if this affects you and, if so, consider extending your medical insurance to cover anything that has changed. For further info, see the following:

Most travel health insurance providers are adjusting their policies to cover the new situation. See a list of travel health insurance providers at www.oscar.org.uk/service/finance/insurance.htm
