Short-term Mission Placements

WEC offers to arrange short-term individual cross-cultural experiences, placing you or your family alongside our experienced workers, serving in multi-national WEC teams in many of the world's nations.

Join an experienced cross-cultural worker, whether for just a month or even for 2 years, as they serve the Lord in a front-line mission situation. Learn from their wisdom and get involved in a ministry related to your interests, training and abilities. This often proves to be an ideal way for you or your family to investigate a possible long-term career in cross-cultural mission.

WEC UK's Short-Term Mission programmes are geared to fuel your passion for God through hands-on mission.

• For any solo short-term trip, we aim to match your gifts and time-frame, to design your short term cross-cultural mission experience. We will place you alongside an experienced missionary in any one of over 80 countries, where you can learn from them, serve God alongside them, share the good news and grow in your faith.
• Check out our Dive Into mission experiences from 2-4 weeks in 2026 for those aged 18-35.
• You might want to send a team from your church: eg. a group of up to 10 volunteers from one church sent to a strategic location for 2 or 3 weeks. We will connect you with our team involved in a ministry that could make a lasting impact to not just those who go, but also the rest of the congregation back home praying and supporting you.

Want to avoid flying or reduce your mission carbon footprint?

• Our Arts Release ministry offers online workshops and short-term internships in music, drama, handicrafts and visual arts here in the UK as well as abroad.
• Our Betel ministry offers internships (6-month or longer) discipling those coming out of addictions in several UK locations too as well as overseas.
• Our Summer Camps for children (aged 9-17) happen every summer under canvas on the UK coast. Lots of activities and learning about mission. Volunteers are needed every year.

Tell us where you'd like to go, what you feel able to do, and how long you are available. With the Lord's help we will try to find an appropriate placement for your capacity, interests and time slot, then we will prepare you to serve with adequate training and orientation. This process can often take up to 6 months, so contact us for a chat!
