Tanterton Christian Fellowship, Preston, is a developing church looking for individuals who feel a desire to work within a team committed to developing a vibrant children’s work in the heart of the community.

We’re looking for volunteers who might be willing to commit to a period of time developing and building a strong children’s work. If that’s you, why not get in touch for a very informal chat, we’d love to have the opportunity of connecting with you.

Tanterton Christian Fellowship is situated in a modern and purpose-built facility on the NW outskirts of the city of Preston. The area has a mix of and increasing number of private and housing association accommodation, and there is an excellent primary school adjacent to the church.

We have a congregation of approx. 35-40 on Sunday mornings. There are a small number of children and young people, but the church membership is made up mainly of middle aged and elderly.

The church activities for children and young people range from a carer and child group, one of a Thursday night kids club for 5–11-year-olds and a group for 12–14-year-olds on a Tuesday. There is a Sunday morning Sunday school

All these activities are open to the wider community. It is these activities and bridging the gap between the midweek children & youth activities and the local school that we would like to develop

Our vision is to see people’s lives changed by the power of the Gospel; people who then grow in discipleship and service. We eagerly desire many more people, especially in our local area, to encounter opportunities to respond to the Christian good news. This is summed up in our mission statement: ‘Helping People Follow Jesus’.

This has led to a focus on our work with children and young people but we need help to do this.
