Purpose of the role:
To serve on the leadership team of The Ladygrove Church
(TLC) and to oversee our Children’s and Family’s work.
Who we are:
TLC is a small but growing church in Didcot based in a
parish whose population is rapidly expanding due to two new residential
developments. Our current minister joined us in 2025 and we are in an exciting
season of change and growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cultivating one's own prayer life and
theological foundation for ministering in this role
- Strengthening
the discipleship and spiritual development of children and families
within our church
- Actively
engaging with our children’s work as it currently operates and
discerning a path forward which better serves the needs of
children/families/wider congregation.
- Leading
and coordinating the children’s work at TLC
- Building,
overseeing and resourcing a team of lay volunteers to support the
Children’s and Family’s work
- Finding/creating
content to build theological foundations for young people and families
- Overseeing
our All Age team who lead intergenerational services monthly
- Supporting
families who need pastoral/discipleship support
- Leading
TLC Mission opportunities to young people and families
- Retaining
and developing links with local schools
- Providing
acts of collective worship
- Supporting
with prayer space in schools or space makers
- Supporting
Bible study groups or other discipleship opportunities as they arise
- Supporting
other related ministries such as Toddlers group and Messy Church
- Connecting
with the community and other similar groups such as Echo - working
together to ensure we’re using resources wisely
- Discerning
and pioneering other creative opportunities to minister and share the
gospel with local families and children
- Working
collaboratively-
- Learning, supporting, and
modelling the overall vision, mission, and values of TLC
- In conjunction with the
Designated Safeguarding Lead, ensuring that the Safeguarding Policy and
best practice is implemented and
adhered to for all children’s and youth work at TLC.
Who you are:
- Essential criteria of a suitable candidate
- A Christian who is committed to prayer and seeking
God’s guidance in this role: This role has a genuine occupational requirement to be a
practising Christian (as permitted under Schedule 9, Part 1 of the
Equality Act 2010)
- Experience working with young people
- A proactive and solutions oriented approach to the
needs of the ministry
- Desirable criteria of a suitable candidate
- Strong administration and organisational skills
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team and lead
collaboratively
- Strong communication skills
Practical details – hours, contract,
salary, location etc.
- This is a 3 year fixed term contract with the first
6 months being probationary
- 15 hour per week:
mostly flexible with work from home
- Wage: £14.06 per hour (Oxford Living Wage)
- We will provide a laptop and a mobile phone
- Training opportunities will be made available
- Training
will be provided in safeguarding and there are many other training
programmes on offer in the diocese.
- You
will also join a network of employed workers who meet together regularly
for prayer and support, retreat and sharing ideas and resources.
