Features for 2025

At OSCAR, we get quite a few questions about UK sponsorship for those who currently don't have the right to work in the UK. This article, by Robbie Thompson of the Immigration Advice Service, outlines the criteria and process for non-UK nationals hoping to undertake mission or ministry work in the UK.

This book, published in August 2024, is designed to move from the theological foundation of being a sending church to its practical application. Authors Bradley Bell, Mike Easton, Larry McCrary, and Nathan Sloan have gathered their collective wisdom working within and alongside local churches into a journey revealing seventeen 'elements' that make up what they call a 'sending church,' and makes them doable for any church.

Money Matters is a new training course, from former mission worker Keith Webb, specifically designed for mission workers to give them money mindsets and financial tools to create financial sustainability so that they can fully live out their calling without money getting in the way.

We have updated our Bible Weeks & Festivals page so you can see what's happening across the UK during this year. As always, there are quite a few changes, so take a look and see what's new. OSCAR is planning to be at some of these.

During 2024 our website received 449,140 visits from 295,380 unique visitors (up 23% on the previous year) and advertised 1,665 jobs and opportunities. By the end of the year, we had 693 organisations managing their own information and/or adding their opportunities, resources and events onto the OSCAR system. See our one minute summary video!

Our first article of 2025, written by James Vaughton, CEO of Transform Europe Network, focuses on the need to build partnerships in mission that enable participation and empowerment at the same time as limiting dependency. Useful for anyone wanting to create good working relationships.

Relentless: We Press On captures the essence of unwavering faith and determination. Written by members of mission organisation Team Expansion, they share not only the narrative, but also the backstory too – the 'why' and the 'how' they press on. It provides hope and inspiration for navigating life's complexities – for you and all those you know.

Following on from the advent calendar last month, Global Trellis have put together a packet of materials to help you reflect on your mission or ministry at the end of one year and the beginning of the next.

Whether you're looking for a career in Christian or mission work, or looking to change roles within the Christian sector, OSCAR has it all. We list more jobs for more organisations than any other Christian website in the UK. That's why OSCAR should be your starting place for your search. You can also subscribe to our daily alerts (Saved Search) or our weekly email ('Opportunities Update') for the latest job adverts.

We have adjusted a few small things about our advertising packages for the New Year. We reckon we are by far the best value in the UK Christian sector for advertising jobs. Why not try us and see for yourself?
