“Mike is a star,” wrote Isaac Frisby, Vocational Recruitment Officer on his annual review of OSCAR. He piqued our interest when he also wrote that he’s a bridgebuilder and brings sometimes atomized groups together.
In talking with Isaac, I wanted to find out what he meant. He went on to describe how OSCAR really isn’t OSCAR without Mike. Sharing how Mike knows him and his colleagues as well as the organisation they work with.
Isaac describes Mike as a “peaceful influence,” mentioning how whilst he and others are working away in their respective positions, Mike stands outside of any loyalties and tries to look at how everyone is working together in the wider mission community. "He’s in the right places," Isaac elaborates, "and mentions us personally to someone who is a good fit at an event that OSCAR is represented at or within the networking groups he’s integrally a part of. He has the vision and expertise to do this well."
“OSCAR isn’t just a website,” says Isaac, “it’s Mike! He knows the organisations on the website. He knows me and my colleagues personally. We think of him as our friend and it's always a treat to chat with him."
