WEC International

Agency | UNITED KINGDOM

WEC International takes the good news to the peoples and nations who have yet to hear it: the good news that Christ came to bring forgiveness of sins and peace with God, and to displace hatred with love.

Listening to, serving and walking alongside local people, we form disciples, expecting to see churches flourish in cultures where Christ is little known. This involves us in many diverse activities, as fits local needs, including: youth work, teaching, medical work, music and the arts, Bible translation and literacy, work with addicts and children in crisis, business skills and helping local Christians share the gospel cross-culturally.

WEC is committed to finding new, creative and culturally-relevant ways of doing mission.

We would love to meet you. If you let us know where in the UK or Ireland you are currently living, we could put you in touch with your nearest local WEC Mobiliser. They will be able to arrange someone to meet with you, to explain the application process, give you more details about any specific opportunity, and help you to pray through your options.

WEC UK is a faith-based fellowship, made up of a network of committed volunteers, and does not pay a salary for any of the opportunities advertised. Anyone wishing to join the fellowship should do so with a desire to join us in this faith venture, and come with, or be developing, a strong support base that will enable them to fulfil their calling and ministry.

  • Bourofaye Christian School, Senegal

Bourofaye Christian School was set up originally, in the village of Bourofaye in the Casamance in 1980, to provide an education for the children primarily of WEC missionaries in Senegal and surrounding countries of West Africa. This truly international school is now used by families from over 20 mission agencies. While small, with around 70-80 students aged between 5 and 16, many of whom board, we retain a family atmosphere.
