Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Training Developer - Flight Training (SIM) to join our Future Flight Training Project team. 

 

This role is crucial to the success of our mission, as the Training Developer - Flight Training (SIM), you will be responsible for developing comprehensive and engaging curriculum for future MAF pilots and mechanics. This is a unique opportunity for an individual with a passion for aviation and a heart for serving remote communities to make a tangible impact on the lives of others. 

 

We are MAF, a Christian organisation that utilises aviation and technology to provide assistance and hope to underdeveloped communities around the world. Founded in 1945, MAF currently serves in 31 countries. MAF's history reflects a strong commitment to serving some of the most remote and hard-to-reach communities in the world. MAF's 116 aircraft, provide vital transportation services to medical personnel, development workers, and aid organisations across the globe. The organization also delivers Bibles, church materials, and other resources to communities with limited access to Christian teaching and worship services.

This role can be based in either Support Offices (Cairns of Ashford) or a remote location considered ie Europe. 

 

Salary for this role is: £33,000 to £35,000

 

Responsibilities

This role involves developing, testing, and implementing training curriculums for migrating MAFI in-aircraft training to advanced Flight Simulation Training Devices (FSTD) and integrating VR/MR simulators and tools into MAFI's training portfolio. As part of the Project Core Team for the Future Flight Training Project, you'll collaborate closely with subject matter experts on curriculum development.

 

In this dynamic role, you'll work with experts to identify training needs, design effective curriculum, and create engaging learning materials. You'll develop both online and instructor-led courses, ensuring they meet industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company objectives. Plus, you'll stay updated on emerging technologies and industry best practices, integrating them into the curriculum as needed.

 

The ideal candidate will have excellent instructional design skills, a keen eye for detail, and a passion for aviation. You'll thrive both in a team and independently, managing multiple projects with competing deadlines. Key Responsibilities:

 

• Collaborate with subject matter experts to gather information and identify learning objectives for future MAF pilots and mechanics

• Design and develop engaging curriculum materials, including lesson plans, presentations, assessments, and other training materials

• Incorporate adult learning principles to ensure the curriculum is effective and engaging for students of all backgrounds

• Review and update existing curriculum to improve effectiveness and relevancy

• Conduct research and stay updated on industry trends and developments to ensure the curriculum is current and relevant

• Actively participate in curriculum testing and make necessary revisions based on feedback

• Collaborate with other members of the Future Flight Training Project team to ensure seamless integration of curriculum with other training components

• Communicate with stakeholders to gather feedback and suggestions for continuous improvement

• Maintain accurate records of curriculum development process and ensure document control procedures are followed

 

The position may require occasional travel to other MAF locations for curriculum testing and development purposes.
