Secondary School History Teacher
Description:
Grace International School is seeking a passionate and dedicated Secondary School History Teacher to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality history education to secondary school students in line with the English National Curriculum (ENC). Our ideal candidate will possess a teaching license or certification and have a strong understanding of the ENC.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver engaging history lessons to secondary school students, following the English National Curriculum guidelines.
- Create and implement innovative teaching methods and strategies to cater to diverse learning styles and abilities within the classroom.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes critical thinking, analytical skills, and historical understanding.
- Assess student progress through a variety of formative and summative assessments, providing timely and constructive feedback to students and parents.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary units and projects that integrate history with other subjects.
- Participate in departmental meetings, professional development sessions, and school-wide events as required.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and academic performance in accordance with school policies.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in History, Education, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- Teaching license or certification required.
- Strong knowledge of the English National Curriculum, with previous experience teaching within this framework preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and motivate students.
- A passion for history and a commitment to promoting historical literacy and understanding among students.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and school leadership to support student learning and development.
- Familiarity with educational technology tools and resources to enhance teaching and learning experiences.
