Passionate Baptist Pastor

JIBC, a vibrant, multicultural English-speaking Baptist church in Jakarta, Indonesia, is seeking a passionate and visionary Pastor. We're a diverse community of expatriates and Indonesian nationals from various denominational backgrounds, serving in a nation where Christianity represents only 8% of the population. This presents a unique and significant opportunity to make a lasting impact.

• Servant Leader: A deeply committed follower of Christ, with a proven track record of shepherding and empowering others.
• Excellent Communicator: Able to articulate the Gospel effectively from the pulpit and build strong relationships.
• Visionary: Passionate about developing future leaders, fostering personal evangelism, and igniting spiritual growth within the church and community.
• Cross-Cultural Experience: A plus, given our diverse congregation.

Qualifications:

• Master’s Degree in Theology, Divinity, or related field from a reputable institution that aligns with Baptist theology.
• Minimum of 5 years of pastoral ministry experience in a Baptist church.
• Strong expository preaching style, grounded in the authority of Scripture (2 Tim. 2:15; 3:16–17).
• Adherence to biblical views on marriage, sexuality, and the sanctity of life (aligned with JIBC’s doctrinal statement).
• Married, with a spouse who shares a passion for ministry.
• Age: 40–60 years.
• A package of remuneration and allowance will be provided.

Responsibilities:

• Lead weekly worship service (potentially two).
• Develop and oversee Christian education, discipleship, and ministry training programs.
• Provide pastoral care and support to church members.
• Work collaboratively with elders and deacons to guide the church’s vision and strategy.
• Foster a culture of personal evangelism.
• Lead the church in setting up annual goals/direction and create an annual calendar of the church's ministries and priorities.
