Job Summary: We are looking for a dedicated and qualified German Language Teacher to join our Modern Foreign Languages Department at Hebron School. The ideal candidate will be responsible for teaching Middle School, IGCSE, and A Level German language courses, fostering a positive learning environment, and promoting an understanding and appreciation of the German language and culture. The German Language Teacher will teach across Middle School and IGCSE/A Level levels. This includes classes for Middle School students (Standard 7, 8, and 9) as well as IGCSE and A Level student

Responsibilities: 1. Teaching: • Plan and deliver engaging and effective German language lessons to students of Middle School, IGCSE, and A Level levels. • Use a variety of teaching methods and resources to cater to diverse learning styles and abilities. • Assess and evaluate student progress through assignments, tests, and participation. 2. Curriculum Development: • Develop and update the German language curriculum, incorporating current teaching methodologies and addressing the needs of students at different proficiency levels. 3. Classroom Management: • Create a positive and conducive learning environment in the German language classroom. • Maintain subject-related information for students and parents. 4. Student Assessment and Progress Monitoring: • Regularly assess and evaluate student progress through various assessment methods. • Administer school examinations and produce subject reports as required. • Prepare students for public examinations, ensuring readiness and confidence. 5. Collaboration and Communication: • Collaborate with colleagues and the Head of the Modern Foreign Languages Department on academic matters and student progress. • Maintain open communication with form tutors and department heads regarding student academic concerns. 6. Professional Development: • Stay updated on the latest teaching methodologies and developments in German language instruction. • Share knowledge and resources with colleagues to enhance the department's effectiveness. 7. School Values: • Uphold and promote the values and ethos of the school, fostering a respectful and understanding environment among students and staff

Requirements & Preferences: • Hold a teaching qualification specialising in the German language, with a focus on middle school, IGCSE, and A Level students. • Demonstrated proficiency in teaching German as a foreign language at varying levels. • Strong understanding of the unique challenges students may face when learning and taking exams in German.
