Debt Centre Manager
Job Vacancy: CAP East Dorset Debt Centre Manager
Location: East Dorset (Supporting the local communities)
Hours: Part-time paid, 18 hours per week

East Dorset Church Partnership is seeking a compassionate, organised, and committed individual to manage the Christians Against Poverty (CAP) Debt Centre in East Dorset. This is a unique and rewarding opportunity to make a tangible difference in the lives of people struggling with debt, while also sharing the Christian faith with the community.
About the Role:
As the Debt Centre Manager and Debt Coach, you will be the key point of contact between CAP Head Office, local churches, referral agencies, and clients. You’ll visit clients in their homes, offer practical and emotional support where feasible, help them navigate their financial challenges, and encourage them to engage with the CAP service. This role also involves organizing client events, promoting CAP’s services within the local churches, and representing CAP in the community.
All of this will be done in a way that reflects our Christian values and mission to provide holistic, life-changing support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the CAP Debt Centre
- Visit clients in their homes to complete financial assessments
- Offer support to clients in financial distress
- Communicate effectively with CAP Head Office, local churches, and external partners
- Promote CAP’s services within the local community
- Organize client events and campaigns
Skills & Experience:
We are looking for someone with:
- A strong understanding of household budgeting and financial management
- The ability to explain the gospel in a natural and relevant way
- Motivation and passion to inspire others to use CAP’s services
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Emotional resilience and the ability to stay calm under pressure
- Strong organizational skills, time management, and IT proficiency (Microsoft Word and the internet)
Additional Requirements:
- This role requires you to be a committed Christian, an active member of a local church in East Dorset, and in agreement with CAP’s statement of faith.
- An enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check will be required as you will be working with vulnerable individuals.
- A minimum 2-year commitment is requested to ensure thorough training and effective service delivery.
Training & Support:
Upon appointment, you will receive full training from CAP via remote learning (Google Classrooms).
