Air Operations Director
Mercy Air South Africa uses light aircraft and helicopters to deliver humanitarian aid and the gospel message across the countries of Southern Africa.
As a small but actively growing Mission Aviation organisation, we require an Air Operations Manager to programme our flying outreaches. We fly to some of the most remote airstrips in Southern Africa, sometimes staying over to provide practical help to our partner organisations embedded in remote communities. Our fleet includes a Kodiak, Cessna 310 and three AS350B2 Squirrel helicopters.
Responsibilities
Programme the flying for Mercy Air's fixed wing aircraft and helicopters. Work flexibly as part of the leadership team, responsible for the operational efficiency, effectiveness and safety of the flying programme. Assist teh CEO with the paperwork relating to our Part 135 regulatory requirements.
Seek out and develop partnerships with current and potential service users, evaluating how Mercy Air can best meet their needs. Form good relationships with officials, local leaders and appropriate government departments. As an integral part of our small Mercy Air team, you will be expected to undertake wider duties when required. A work-up/handover will be provided.
Staff live on or near the Mercy Air base, a large farm in South Africa, a place of peace and beauty, ideal for families with good schools and modern conveniences nearby (see photos).
