Prayer Director

Refreshment UK

Refreshment UK encourages and equips Christians in the UK by being obvious in the gospel, blessing the local church and engaging with the culture. We are looking for a prayer director to develop our prayer ministry within Refreshment UK.

We have prayer rooms, both in the centre of Blackpool and in the Refresh Centre. We are looking for someone to decorate, develop and encourage local people to get involved in prayer. Refreshment UK has also arranged with the Blackpool Tower to hold monthly prayer meetings at the top. Currently, we have a database of around 40 people who join with this and we are hoping that a prayer director could develop this further.

Role Description

Objectives

The objectives of the role are as follows:

  • To send out prayer letters on behalf of the charity;
  • To recruit and equip a team of regular supporters who will pray;
  • To attend events and support prayer teams where necessary;
  • To organise regular meetings under the banner of Refreshment UK; and
  • To develop your own personal ministry.

Responsibilities
Over the course of your role, the responsibilities are:

Prayer Requests
a)    To compile a list of the prayer requests for the charity each month;
b)    To liaise with the team to find out their current prayer needs;
c)    To deliver a monthly prayer letter via Email to our supporters;
d)    To distribute words of encouragement from prayer letters.

Recruit and Equip the Team
a)    To actively encourage people to pray for the work of Refreshment UK;
b)    To communicate with people to make sure that they feel involved;
c)    To manage and create a database of prayer partners for the charity.

Attend and Support
a)    To occasionally attend Refreshment UK events where appropriate;
b)    To liaise with the National Director on equipping a prayer team at events;
c)    To email the details of how to pray to prayer team members;
d)    To work with team on the best delivery of prayer ministry.

Prayer Meetings
a)    To plan devotions for prayer meetings for the work of Refreshment;
b)    To develop the Renwick Room prayer space in Blackpool as a place of regular prayer;
c)    To organise and invite people to the Blackpool Tower prayer meetings;
d)    To attend and lead prayer meetings and walks for Refreshment.

General and Ministry Development
a)    To undertake various training courses as required by the charity;
b)    To identify and use key skills given by God to enhance personal ministry;
c)    To be creatively involved in ministry development within the charity; and
d)    To be part of team devotions.
