Holiday Programme Assistant
This role exists to support the Holiday and Volunteer Programme Director with the planning, leadership, teaching, delivery and marketing of the Holiday Programme. You will work 37.5 hours over 5 days each week, including weekends over the holiday seasons (Summer, Easter and New Year).
Your key responsibilities will include:

To assist the Holidays & Volunteer Programmes Director with the planning, development, delivery and review of Holidays;

To put together a Voluntary Worker Guest Team for Holidays, assisting with their training (in advance and on-site), and supervising/caring for them whilst they are at Capernwray;

To contribute to the scheduling of staff and Guest Team to ensure all holidays are adequately staffed;

To lead individual Holidays as agreed with the H&V Director;

Joining other permanent staff members on the Guest Team, with particular responsibility in planning and running the children and/or youth programmes with families, and the planning and running of International Youth Weeks;

To be responsible for choosing, booking and advertising trips off-site during Holidays weeks;

To obtain and analyse feedback from guests in conjunction with the Holiday and Volunteer Programmes Director, HR and Administration Director and Marketing and External Relations Director;

To build up a Holidays Handbook (online) documenting good practice and procedures, cycles of age group teaching materials and such other matters as agreed;

To act as a Designated Safeguarding Lead in consultation with the Senior Designated Safeguarding Lead;

To assist with the induction, training and pastoral oversight of the Long Term Voluntary Workers;

To assist with other ministry, administrative and maintenance matters across the organisation as reasonably agreed.
Essential Skills:

Experience working with Youth or Children groups;

Performing well when working as part of a team;

Strong presentational and planning skills;

High degree of resilience to respond flexibly.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience leading a team of Youth or Children’s workers;
- Experience developing teaching materials;
- Safeguarding experience;
- Experience of working in residential ministry;
- Experience of working with volunteers;
- Experience of Google Workspace;
- German speaking.
