Church Development and Outreach Workers

Short term

VISION // We long to see lives transformed as people encounter the love of Jesus.

GOSPEL NEED // There’s an air of spirituality in France, but little discernment; a yearning for something concrete, but an ignorance of Jesus. People in France are longing for a solid rock to lay the foundations of their lives on.

WHAT WE DO // We aim to embed ourselves, and therefore, the gospel in local communities through warm relationships. We’re keen to share our lives and faith with local students and community members in natural, relational ways.

SPECIFIC OPPORTUNITIES // 

• Internships in developing churches (2 months to 2 years)
• Be involved in the community centre through offering classes or workshops, for example in computing, English & German language, or whatever other skills you can bring
• We’d love anyone and everyone with a heart for sharing the gospel to all nations. However it would be a challenge to participate in the activities without a reasonable level of French.

Long term

A couple of ECM missionaries are active in central France, focussing on planting churches. This region has priority since for our mission as there are very few evangelical churches here. For Romorantin, Chinon Saintes and Montreuil Belay individuals or couples are required to help develop relatively young church plants (with old roots), enabling these churches to reach the next stage of maturity.

Qualities
You have a pastoral heart and you have good organisational skills. You relate easily to both Christians and non-Christians and you have experience in church leadership. You are an active member of your church. You speak French well or are willing to learn the language. The first year in the field may be spent language learning. Sufficient theological training is required. For those who have no experience in church planting or have experience outside of France, a special training adapted to the French context may be provided.
