Worker with Vulnerable Women
Mission Africa works closely with partner agencies in Chad helping vulnerable women and girls to escape from a life of exploitation and abuse. You have a heart for the lost and hurting and have some formal or informal teaching experience. Ideally you have some cross-cultural mission experience.
You will form contacts and develop friendships with vulnerable and marginalised women. You will share God’s Word and invest in their lives with the goal to help them find God, escape prostitution and find alternative employment.
Mission Africa expects candidates to have some Bible college training and be prepared to supplement it if required.
NB: LANGUAGE TRAINING IS NOT A REQUIREMENT - we will work out a training programme with those who are selected for service.
There is an occupational requirement for overseas missionaries to be committed Christians, endorsed and formally recognised by their home Church. Missionaries must be able to support and promote the Christian ethos and theological beliefs of Mission Africa as set forth in our statement of faith. Missionaries, in addition to their overseas work, will be expected, whilst on home assignment (furlough), to support the Mission through taking part in various Christian activities such as (but not limited to) Church events of any type, prayer meetings, Christian conferences, informal Christian gatherings.
All overseas roles require some personal support raising to be carried out – missionaries are expected to raise a minimum of 70% of their estimated support costs. Mission Africa will offer training and support in fundraising activities.
