Occupational Therapists

International China Concern

International China Concern (ICC) is a Christian development organization that works with the lost and forgotten, China's abandoned and disabled and we are calling all Occupational Therapists.  Are you passionate about your field?   Are you looking to use your experience in a new way, impacting children in a different culture or across the world?

ICC is looking for OTs with a heart to give into the life of abandoned and disabled children in China. Every day you would form part of an interdisciplinary team, drawing deep on your knowledge and experience to see the lives of children improved.

The Occupational Therapist in Changsha would assess and arrange therapy programs for children and young people with disabilities, order and fit equipment as required, support the training of local therapists, provide consultation for families and caregivers of children with disabilities in areas related to their professional field and experience.  The therapist may be invited to support with consultation around the design and adaptation of environments to ensure accessibility. This position may straddle several projects within the Changsha area.

The OT may also facilitate the short term visits of other therapy professionals for training purposes.  He/she may be asked to advise senior management regarding therapy needs of the children, training needs of the staff and general project systems and structures.

The work would be with both children who are abandoned, and those living with their families.  Work is within therapy centres, and within homes through home visitation.

Please mention OSCAR when responding.
