Global Centre Regional Director - Asia

TeachBeyond Global Centre

To be based at the TeachBeyond Global Centre, Horsham, West Sussex from August 2020.

It is an occupational requirement (Equality Act 2010 – schedule 9, part 1) that the postholder is a committed Christian. The successful candidate will be in agreement with the statement of faith of the World Evangelical Alliance: https://www.worldea.org/who-we-are/statement-of-faith

Annual salary package: £21,000.  Full-time post: 35 hours per week. Start date: August 2020.


The missionary postholder will lead TeachBeyond in Asia on behalf of the President.


The employer guarantees to pay at least the National Minimum/Living Wage for this role. The post will be subject to automatic enrolment in a pension scheme. 
The starting salary package (including any benefits) is £21,000 per annum. 
Employment is dependent on the successful applicant raising sufficient support to cover the salary and all associated costs of the employment package including accommodation costs, employer's NI contributions, pension contributions and any other emoluments.

Position Title:          Global Centre Regional Director - Asia

Effective Date:        August 2020

Position Summary:     To lead TeachBeyond in Asia on behalf of the President


  • Foster personal (spiritual) and professional growth amongst members in the region
  • Seek to ensure that TeachBeyond (TB) effectively pursues its mission in the region
  • Help create a positive ethos in the TB regional community
  • Encourage various TB departments
  • Facilitate the embracing of TB’s vision, values, and services among team members


  • Meet regularly with national and expatriate leaders in the region to cultivate partnerships and networks
  • Lead the formation and implementation of the Strategic Plan in the region
  • Investigate and evaluate the possibility of new initiatives
  • Provide high level oversight in the various countries where TB works in the region
  • Work with Mobilisation to find new recruits who will broaden and deepen the services TB offers
  • Make regular trips, as needed and as funds permit, throughout the region to encourage and support team members
  • Demonstrate an interest in the members’ work and projects by championing their services
  • Periodically hold retreats, conferences, online seminars/discussion groups
  • Communicate with leaders on a regular basis
  • Personally model a TB approach to service


Reports to:     President, TeachBeyond Global

Supervises:     National Directors/Coordinators in Asia; project leaders

Relates to:     Cabinet members



Relevant Experience

  • At least five years’ experience in an educational, church, or business environment
  • Service in the region, or with a similar mission-based organisation
  • Professional experience in a faith-based non-profit organisation
  • Cross-cultural mission experience
  • Desirable: at least two years’ service with TB in the region

Education and Training

  • Undergraduate degree with some training in Biblical studies required
  • Desirable: Graduate degree

Knowledge and Skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills; proven ability to work well with others
  • Good oral and written communications skills
  • Organisational skills and ability to order priorities
  • Good cross-cultural communication skills
  • Ability to strategize, motivate, and evaluate
  • Desirable: At least some awareness of and facility in a second language
  • Desirable: Working knowledge of Office 365 tools for day-to-day business

TeachBeyond General Member Expectations

1. Establish and maintain a support team; stay in touch with sending church.

2. Participate actively in local church; follow a personal growth and lifelong learning plan; report regularly on ministry, personal life, and finances; participate in meetings and events mandatory for all members (prayer days, training, etc.).
