Executive Assistant to the PNG Country Director

Mission Aviation Fellowship (MAF) is an organisation using light aircraft to deliver help, hope and healing through aviation in over 30 developing countries. For more than 75 years, MAF has been transporting patients, relief workers, produce and medical supplies to the world’s remotest regions and places of deepest human need – places where flying is not a luxury but a lifeline.

Responsibilities

This role has a high level of authority to help manage and represent the needs and interests relating to the activities of the MAF PNG Country Director.

You will need to have good experience with administrative support, and be detail orientated to assist the Country Director and Deputy Country Director in the administration of all the day to day matters affecting the function of the organisation.  This will include personal assistance to the Country Director, management of events and meetings, minute taking and report writing and reception responsibilities.

You will also need to be highly organised to assist in special tasks, such as assisting the Country Director in liaising with government ministers, departments and other organisations, including the aviation industry CEO core group, partner organisations and regulators (CASA, Air Services, Accident Investigation Commission and NAC).  There's scope for you to be creative to plan and carry out events such as staff welcomes, farewells, and celebrations which occur throughout the year, in conjuction with the HR Department.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

Essential:

  • Good secondary school education with a high proficiency in English

  • Proficiency in the range of MS Office tools
  • 3+ years experience as an Executive Assistant, including liaison, publication and communications experience

Desirable:

  • Experience of working in a cross cultural environment
  • Knowledge of the aviation industry, its terminology and regulations

All roles are normally for 4 year assignments, with some personal support raising required. There is an occupational requirement for the job holder to be a committed Christian, able to agree with and help promote and represent MAF's Christian beliefs through their work in PNG and in the UK.
