Are you an experienced English teacher? Do you enjoy sharing your love of language and literature? Do you have a desire to teach eager learners and encourage them to reach their full potential? We are looking for an experienced Secondary English teacher who is passionate about their subject.
Our vision at Kathmandu International Study Centre (KISC) is to be a living witness of Christ’s love through excellent education primarily for the children of those serving in Nepal. KISC is a multi-cultural community serving children from many different countries. Through our international K-12 school, students and staff will positively impact their world.
At KISC we have small classes where we teach Checkpoint in Grades 6 to 8 and IGCSE / A’Levels in Grades 9 to 12. Should you need it, we provide professional support in understanding the curriculum requirements.
Your skills and experience will be valued by families of many nationalities who are thankful for the provision of our school because it enables them to do what God has called them to here in Nepal. KISC, and this position within the school, has a strategic role in the work being undertaken in this beautiful country.
All of our expat staff are volunteers. We cover all visa costs, provide initial language learning and ongoing professional teaching development. For those who commit to staying two or more years we provide the following support: those with children receive a free child place; those without children receive the equivalent value support in the form of a living allowance (sufficient to live in Kathmandu), return airfares from your home country and school lunches.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Internationally recognised degree and teaching qualification
- Relevant teaching experience
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent oral & written English skills
- Self-motivated and adaptable with a high level of initiative
- Knowledge of relevant curriculum and learning and assessment best practice
- Effective classroom management skills
- A commitment to ongoing professional development
