Community Projects Assistant

Ratidzo Trust

Working closely with our centre manager, you will be helping with any of our income generating projects. Projects range from poultry, goats, beekeeping, pigs, fish and vegetable nutrition gardening. You will also help out in our community shop and and at various times of the year you could be involved in running childrens holiday clubs, reading and homework groups.

You will be linking with 5 rural schools, churches, the local hospital, community groups and individuals.

This opportunity will really give you the abiity to get involved in the rural community, learning local customs and to make a real difference in the lives of vulnerble people.

No particular skills required, as you will be learning on the job, although some knowledge of livestock/agriculture would be an advantage.  You will need to be versatile, practical, a hands on person, have the ability to adapt to any situation and be a team player.

You will have basic accommodation at our centre in one of our small lodges (two to a room when fully occupied), with solar power and running water (cold).  Cooking will be on gas stove or fire.

We ask for you to raise a minimum of £300 per week for your stay (minimum 2 weeks, maximum 4 weeks), this cost will cover your food at the centre, airport pick up & drop off, b&b overnight stay in Harare and transport to and from Harare to Sanyati.  It also includes an amount to help with the charity's work in Zimbabwe.  If you are able to raise more, it will make a significant difference in our work and we'd be very grateful.

We can organise a 2 night trip to a local game reserve at an extra cost.

Please mention OSCAR when responding.
