Pastor of Holmebrook Valley Church
FTE 40 hours per week (or part-time by agreement)
25 days’ holiday per annum or pro rata

Holmebrook Valley Church is a lively family oriented church of 30-40 people with a heart for the local community.  The church is based in a new purpose-built family centre with integral day nursery situated adjacent to the shopping centre and is strategically positioned, both physically and spiritually, to serve the needs of local people.  The area the church serves is on the west side of Chesterfield, adjacent to the Peak District.  The Family Centre and Promises Day Nursery (both owned by ACM) are open daily to build bridges, provide a range of services for the public and develop new initiatives to serve the community.   Holmebrook Valley Church operates within this context.

The church is involved in a range of activities including:-

  • worship and teaching
  • discipleship groups
  • evangelistic dance group for young people
  • Alpha courses
  • open Days and Family Events
  • children’s clubs with a Christian emphasis
  • half-term children’s holiday clubs with a Christian emphasis
  • schools’ ministry involving a primary school assembly team

In addition, youth and young adult ministries are organised centrally to serve across ACM.  The full-time youth director is part of the Holmebrook Valley leadership team.

The church is under the oversight of two ACM elders (who are responsible for all the ministries across Acorn Christian Ministries) supported by a leadership team which encompasses schools’ ministry, children and youth, teaching and pastoral care.  The church now requires a Spirit-filled energetic church leader, with initiative, to work with the existing team in developing evangelistic opportunities (in particular with young families) and to envision and lead the team in order to see the whole church moving forward.  The role (part or full time) will require church leadership skills alongside the ability to develop fresh approaches to imparting the Christian faith to the community.

The job carries a genuine occupational requirement for the post holder to have a personal commitment to the Christian faith.

Please email Morag Evans, ACM Leadership Team, for an information pack and application forms or phone her on 07737044605 for an informal discussion. Visit www.emergeleaders.com for a flavour of one of ACM's developing ministries with young adults.
